Not Taking Orders

Postby maldrich » Mon Sep 08, 2008 7:36 pm

Just an announcement to clarify:

We did not reach our initial number to begin production on the aurora device. We apologize, and suggest for the electronically gifted, rich, and passionate, they use our files to build their own.

If anything changes, it will be posted here first. Until then, a few people have demo units. A group in DC has one. Peter Kirn from createdigitalmusic has another. And Ean from djtechtools has another.

:( Hi Matt... Brilliant product, I WANT ONE, so I am rather surprised you would GIVE UP, just like that !!! I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way, so can we perhaps give Matt the encouragement needed. Phillip

having just found out about this project, this is something exactly like what i've been looking for in the shops. Is there no chance of starting up the order again if there's enough interest? i'm sure i could rustle up four or five more people interested in buying these. If each of the (20?) people that preordered did that, there'd be plenty enough...

Matt, I'm devastated!

This is the coolest thing i've seen in ages, i want one bad! I only found out bout it like 2 weeks ago. You can't give up man, be patient I'm sure we'll get more ppl together.

If myself and the guys who posted b4 me plus the next 10-20 are interested would you accept a group order from us. Im after the full DIY kit, i think its a great idea. Matt this will be as big as the monome, we gotta get the word out!

Please start producing a new batch!

i couldn't agree more, i was actually shocked to find that they didn't reach the minimum 50 orders. This was an incredible design, and i would love to get my hands on one. any word on group orders?

I would be keen on going in on a group order too. This is only a few days and already theres quite a few people. I really just dont think you guys waited around enough. Im sure this woudl have sold like hot cakes if there was more exposure to the general DJ community rather than just on the more "Enthusiast" type sites....

maldrich,

What exactly are the terms of a group order? Are you looking to get 50 combined (pre-built and kit) orders or 50 of each?

I have signed up on "the list" and feel that within a couple of weeks we would definitely meet your reqs. We just want a little clarification as to what the goal is, so that we have enough people ready to go, including overcompensating for any last minute flakes. Basically, we want aurora mixers and will be your marketing vehicle. :ugeek:

It is sad that not enough people put their money where their mouth is and pre-ordered this mixer. I heard about this project off Hackaday.com - unique, kinda nerdy site. What you guys need is some decent exposure to a dj-mix-mag or similar. I really hope this anti-publicity will encourage more people to sign up to your forum and moan about this because you are onto a good thing! Open source code and hardware is a labour of love, and as such takes time to get the ball rolling. Where would the Linux community be if they gave up after a month? Keep trying, get the word out and don't give up!
